Listen, if you’re training with the intention to become more competitive in your sport than you’re doing yourself a disservice by stopping your training while you’re in-season. We know the schedule is jam-packed and you feel like your body is screaming for rest, but skipping in-season training is not the answer. You know what happens when you neglect your training? Your body composition takes a hit - your muscle mass decreases, and your body fat increases. And let us tell you, because we’ve seen it firsthand, that’s not the only thing that’s going to be increasing - your chances of injury go up too!
You might be thinking, “well, what’s the big deal if I miss a few training sessions and get back into it after the season?” Let us break it down for you. When you don’t train in-season, you’re risking a loss of up to 20% of your total strength that you worked SO HARD to build in the off-season. And that’s not all. Your speed and power output go down too. All of this comes at the worst possible time - during playoffs/championships. You’re not going to finish the season as strong as you started, and that’s just unacceptable.
You’re out here to win, to push yourself to the limit, and to achieve greatness. And if you haven’t heard it before let us be the first to tell you, greatness isn’t achieved by taking shortcuts. So, stick with our carefully designed training program and give it your all.
